Baking in Microwave Convection Oven

I started baking in my Microwave without knowing the Abc's of baking.I've searched frantically for topics relating to these in many sites and blogs, but there were only a few which answered my questions to the point. So,when DK asked me to share my two cents on her blog,I was more than happy.

I am not an expert though.I have been baking in my Microwave for sometime now and I have tried to answer the queries in whatever way I can!!I have an IFB Microwave Oven with Convection and Grill and all baking I do is done in that.

Hop on to her blog to see my guest post,Part 1,on Baking in Microwave Convection Oven. Please leave your comments and suggestions and if you have any questions,shoot..:)

  4. Hi Sudha,

Thanks so much for the sweet words.Regarding the cookies,I am not sure why they came out hard, that recipe is usually a fool proof one.reasons why it turned out hard could be,a)if the dough was kneaded more than necessary,or b)if the fat content is low/not enough.I hope you try it out again and get good results!!

  9. Hi Divya,
I have purchased the same IFB microwave convection model. And I am going to cook a cake on Wednesday on my first anniversary..:). I have a question from you: There is an option "cake" in the menu. So do I need to select only that or need to set time as 30-40 mins and turn on microwave+convection option?

  10. When baking in microwave on convection mode only do you leave the turn table plate on the bottom and put the cake tin onto this. The electrical element is under the turn table and above, so should the bottom element be covered?

    1. You can use regular baking tins(including metal) while you bake in convection mode. For grilling too you can use metal racks. For microwave though, use only micro-proof utensils.
