Channa Phov

Cooking up new dishes for breakfast is really a challenge. You do get tired sometimes of the same routine of idli-dosa and stuff.Having dosa batter in the fridge does save you from truoble many a times..but still.I am very particular about having a filling breakfast and I consider it to be THE important meal of the day.

Phov/poha/flattened rice is a very filling food by itself. There are many different varieties that can be prepared using poha and here I have paired poha with a channa side-dish with a slight sweet taste which complements the spiciness of the phovu.Phov and channa is a typical Mangalore(South kanara) breakfast.
